Welcome

Hitler was a Christian. Therefore…

How often do you hear that one?  I’m running across it from time to time – more often than I’d like actually.  Nobody with two brain cells to rub together is buying that crock, right?  Wrong.

The whirling propaganda chain has been placed on the big sprocket, and we’re being deluged with nonsense.  The problem you ask?  Some of us don’t know our history, so we’re back peddling on the issue.  Folks, when we see a thing that is wrong, we have a duty to set it right.

Isaiah 1:17 – Learn to do good; Seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.

Apparently people have skipped the important parts of history.  The parts where Hitler’s dad was anti-religious have been forgotten and we’ve embraced something else.  While little Adolf was baptized, those same folks who are sure he was a “Christian” haven’t read his book, “Mein Kampf” where he lays out his nihilistic philosophy, denounces the church, and outlines the need to remove church from state.

Is there a surprise that this guy used the religion to attain favor with the public?  He was recorded by Martin Bormann as someone who “hates Christianity” in the “Hitler’s Table Talk” series of monologues throughout 1941 to early 1944.  Hitler goes onto state Christianity was “a rebellion against the natural law of selection by struggle and the survival of the fittest”.  Maybe he just didn’t get the memo circulating around in the from of the Good Book.  We’re talking about a guy who formed his own church, the Protestant Reich Church, with it’s sole purpose being that of Catholic Church destruction so the shift would occur away from God and towards that of the fine “Aryan fighters” of the Reich.

It’s become apparent the only reason Adolf Hitler didn’t do away with all the religion right out of the chute, was necessity.  Later he used it large in part as a method for control.  Things were peachy at first with the Reich when the money was flowing and nobody questioned why little Jimmy didn’t come back from summer reeducation camp, but as the wealth diminished and the rules and regulation came down like a hammer, and 1 in 5 people didn’t return from their train rides, people were going to turn to Faith, and Hitler knew he had to have some sort of control over it or he’d have problems keeping the ball bouncing.

So for those soft headed folks that absolutely hate the truth and manage to ignore it, I feel a bit of pity.  And for the folks that actively push forth pure poppycock, I am annoyed.  Don’t be me.  Alternatively, offer them the truth and let’s not embrace the silliness.

Proverbs covers this a bit.  When people are putting forth something untrue, some may know they are lying, others may not.  Regardless we have an obligation to correct it when we can.  Do we not?

Proverbs 6:16-19 – There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood,  A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

Salt and light man…  Salt and light.
